In a momentous occasion, Chabad of Georgetown, under the guidance of Rabbi Avrohom Holtzberg and Rabbi Mendy Weissberg, celebrated the 24th of Tevet by printing an edition of the Tanya for the first time in their community.
To commemorate this auspicious day, Chabad of Georgetown embarked on the historic project of printing the Tanya for the very first time in Georgetown, Brooklyn.
Rabbi Avrohom Holtzberg, the spiritual leader of Chabad of Georgetown, expressed the community’s joy and reverence for this occasion.
“Printing the Tanya is a monumental step for our community. It symbolizes our commitment to preserving and disseminating the teachings of Chabad Chassidus, which have been a source of inspiration and guidance for generations.”
Rabbi Mendy Weissberg and local head of Hatzalah Eli Levitansky highlighted the collaborative effort that went into bringing this project to fruition.
“Our community came together with a shared dedication to make this project a reality. It’s a testament to the unity and commitment that define our Chabad community in Georgetown.”
The printing ceremony, originally started as a project for the local Chabad families, as the number of Chabad families in the community is constantly growing and their presence and many initiatives are felt and appreciated by all.
It quickly became a collaborative effort including many community members and supporters as soon as they heard the significance of being part of such a special project and the blessings it brings to the community. The newly printed volumes of Tanya were then used to study Chapter 22 by the community members, symbolizing the tradition to not only print the pages, but study and internalize them. As the Tanya becomes a tangible presence in the homes of Georgetown’s Chabad community, it serves as a reminder of the enduring legacy of Chabad Chassidus and the teachings of the Alter Rebbe.
Chabad of Georgetown looks forward to the continued growth and spiritual enrichment that will undoubtedly result from this historic undertaking.
