Wednesday night, there was a double reason to exclaim ‘didan notzach’ in Chigwell, Essex, England – the Tanya was printed there for the first time and it appropriately took place on Hey Teves, combining the celebrations of ownership of the Chabad library while printing what is often called the ‘Written Torah’ of Chabad.
The printing was organized by Yehudah Raven who also gave a short Tanya lesson from the freshly printed sheets of Tanya at the celebratory farbrengen. Attendees also heard from Rabbi Rafi Goodwin (Community Development Rabbi of Chigwell & Hainault Synagogue), as well as Rabbi Aryeh Sufrin MBE (Exec Director of Chabad North East London & Essex) and the other local shluchim Rabbi Yanky Abrams, Rabbi Odom Brandman, Rabbi Yossi Posen and Rabbi Mordechai Wollenberg.
The farbrengen lasted into the early hours and was enjoyed by a full local crowd whose eyes were opened to a book and subject that many had not previously heard of. While at the farbrengen, Rabbi Yossi Posen of Epping Chabad launched the idea of a new weekly Tanya Shiur for beginners, which will BzH start as soon as possible.
The Chigwell community would like to thank Avrom Weisz and Colin Bharier who dedicate an immense amount of their time to ensuring that Tanya printings take place across the United Kingdom.

Well done Yehuda and Odom!
Didan notzach!
