Yeshivas Kayitz Tannersville kicked off the summer with a riveting program which excited and amazed talmid and staff alike with its great success.
As the camp reaches the halfway milestone of the summer, YKT presents a detailed report and outline of the highlights.
From the onset of week one, the Bachurim of YKT, headed by Learning Director Rabbi Yossi Schapiro and devoted teachers, experienced tremendous progress in their studies. Beginning every morning with a Shiur in Chassidus, followed by extensive classes in Gemara and Halacha, the Talmidim are provided with valuable instruction, preparing them for the years of Yeshivah to come. Additionally, Talmidim are provided with a sizable array of other extracurricular lessons, with subjects spanning from Shechita to music and Krav Maga.
With the goal of providing health of body as well as spirit, our Sports Director, Moshe Carlebach, has systematically orchestrated a summer-long schedule of leagues, extending to many major sports, in order to enhance the physical development of the Talmidim. Our Torah teaches us that part of our serving Hashem is to keep our bodies strong. Accordingly, adequate time is allotted in our schedule for the Talmidim to strengthen their bodies in healthy competition and a kosher atmosphere.
On frequent occasions Talmidim are surprised with special, exceptional trips and activities. These have so far included bowling, rifle shooting, paintball shooting, late night trip to an unbelievable Water Park, monster truck event, ATVing, mountain hiking, White water rafting and a memorable trip to Monsey where an incredible Farbrengen was arranged in honor of Yud Beis Tammuz.
This past Sunday, these achievements were seen first-hand by the parents of the Talmidim at our extravagant Visiting Day. After a routine morning of learning, parents had the opportunity to spend time with their children, treat them off grounds or on grounds at our Heimishe canteen with food options ranging from fresh home-made pizza to french-fries, from fresh pastries to ice-cream. The day concluded with a free, all you can eat B-B-Q, and all parent departing satisfied, impressed, and in good spirit.
Strengthening personality, building maturity, nurturing creativity, and ministering Chassidishkeit, is what we’re about at YKT. Thank you to all the devoted staff who are making it happen.
