Tamim Academy of York Region, a leading Jewish day school dedicated to providing high-quality, values-driven education, is launching a 48-hour fundraising campaign to support its mission of academic excellence, community growth, and accessible Jewish education for all.
From March 4-5, 2025, every dollar donated to Tamim Academy’s Double Your Impact Challenge will be matched dollar-for-dollar, with the goal of raising $180,000 to further invest in:
-Retaining and attracting exceptional educators through competitive salaries
-Expanding educational programs and resources for students
-Providing financial assistance to families in need, ensuring more children have access to a meaningful Jewish education
-A Growing Institution Rooted in Jewish Values
Tamim Academy of York Region was founded in 2021 as part of the Tamim Academy network, a nationwide initiative aimed at reimagining Jewish education for the 21st century. The school was established by Rabbi Avraham Plotkin and Rebbetzin Goldie Plotkin– Chabad Markham, and Rabbi Mendel Bernstein and Rebbetzin Toby Bernstein – Chabad Romano, who recognized the need for a holistic, nurturing, and academically rigorous Jewish day school that would inspire young minds while fostering strong Jewish identity and Authentic Jewish values. The school is led by Principal, Mrs. Sara Loewenthal.
Since its inception, Tamim Academy has experienced rapid growth, attracting families seeking an innovative and child-centered approach to Jewish and general education. With a curriculum rooted in academic excellence, emotional intelligence, and Jewish tradition, Tamim Academy is shaping the next generation of proud, knowledgeable, and engaged Jewish leaders.
