In anticipation to the new zman beginning in Chabad Yeshivas worldwide, a special conference – Kinus Talmidim Hashluchim was held on Monday, 26 Tishrei, for the Shluchim traveling to Yeshivos around the world.
Organized by the Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim, a sumptuous breakfast together with a warm welcome from emcee Hatomim Levi Plotkin greeted the bochurim who arrived with pre-arranged buses to F.R.E.E. of Brighton Beach.
The program started with a newly released video of the Rebbe from JEM, followed by a video recorded speech from Rabbi Shlomo Cunin, Head Shliach of California who couldn’t make it to the event in person.
Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch took from his busy schedule to address the Shluchim and inspire them with personal stories that happened with him and the Rebbe throughout the years.
This was followed by several speeches from former Talmidim Hashluchim who shared their experiences on various topics for success in shlichus.
Attendees then split up into 3 different sessions on the topics of “Making Seder Sichos a year-long success,” “Farbrengen of the Rebbe viewings,” and “Fundraising and practical tips.”
A video with interviews from several Mashpi’im and Shluchim on the importance of learning the Rebbe’s Torah with bochurim and Shluchim describing how the programs arranged by the Vaad helped them grow in their learning Sichos and watching the Rebbe’s Farbrengens was shown.
This was followed by an announcement about the Vaad’s programs for the coming year from Hatomim Mendy Tubul.
The event concluded with a keynote address from Rabbi Chaim Shapiro, Menahel of Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim in Morristown, NJ, who told bochurim what is expected from them as Shluchim of the Rebbe.
A unique memento was distributed to all the participants who thanked the Vaad Hatmimim led by Rabbi Tzvi Altein and to Rabbi Hershel Okunov and F.R.E.E. of Brighton Beach for hosting it.
