Days before heading out to Yeshiva, Talmidim Hashluchim from 30 Yeshivas around the world gathered at F.R.E.E. of Brighton Beach, NY, for the yearly Kinus Talmidim Hashluchim.
The annual event, organized by the Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim, helps the bochurim to be well-prepared and inspired for their great undertaking all next year.
Colel Chabad Director Rabbi Sholom Duchman, who was part of the group of Bochurim that the Rebbe sent out to Israel in 5736, addressed the crowd about the great Zechus and the Chayus you receive by being on the Rebbe’s Shlichus.
The program continued with five veteran Talmidim Hashluchim sharing their experiences on Shlichus and how to make it a success, 5 ideas, each for 5 minutes, which was followed by a group photo and a sumptuous dinner.
At dinner, Rabbi Chaim Schapiro of Tomchei Tmimim Morristown spoke about the greatness of Halikut which has started its 2nd year, how it’s not just about knowing a Sefer by heart, but rather it also changes a Bochur’s outlook in life and makes him more Mekushar to the Rebbe.
A special recording of the Rebbe’s Yechidus with the first group of Talmidim Hashluchim sent to Melbourne, Australia in 5727 was played.
Vaad Programs throughout the year, Halikut, Yud Shevat programs, Yeshiva Bein Hazmanim and Hanochos were presented by Peretz Garelik, Boruch Ceitlin and Tzvi Alperowitz, who gave special thanks to the Director of Vaad Hatmimim Rabbi Tzvi Altein for his dedication.
A special edition of Sefer HaShlichus was distributed when all Shluchim committed to learn the part relevant to the Talmidim Hashluchim.

Wow, beautiful Chabad House!
I remember going there on Tahalucha in the late 80’s.
Beautifully restored!
