Reflecting the Rebbe’s wishes that N’Shei U’Bnos Chabad represent all facets of Jewish women across the community, 100 girls, young ladies and women from the Sydney community celebrated a special Pesach Sheni event last Sunday. The function was hosted by Nefesh Shul.
The Pesach Sheni ‘Health Symposium’ Hakhel event highlighted an important aspect of the month of Iyar; ‘I am G-d, your Healer.’
Featured talks included an introduction by convener Shternie Althaus, organizer of Women for Unity events in Sydney, Rebbetzin Nechama Dina Moss gave the dvar torah followed by entertaining inspiration by Juliette Vesely, a health coach who became connected to Torah through the efforts of Young adult chabad,Rabbi eli and Elka Feldman. She compared taking on mitzvos one at a time, to viewing progress in the area of health as incremental as well. This was followed by a riveting address by world renowned speaker and clinical psychologist, Renne Mill, who explained how Torah has all the elements for positive living and posiitve psychology. This was followed by a moving talk by Mrs Ramona Freedman, who shared her personal story about her journey to health. Mrs Vanessa Creighton spoke about fertility and health, and recounted her story of emuna, of waiting 16 years for a child, going through IVF cycles , her support from Sydney Beth Din Rabbi Yoram Ulman, Mrs Creighton was ultimately given a bracha by Rebbetzin Batsheva Kaminetzky , and had a child naturally one year later and another child shortly after.
Rebbetzin Shani Cohen closed the evening with Tehillim and prayers for Eretz Yisroel. Participants stayed hours after the event to schmooze, and many were added to the Sydney N’Shei Whatsapp group, which successfully unites Jewish ladies across the city.
We thank Sydney Nshei for their participation in donating and preparing the refreshments. All money collected went to charity. Torah, tefilla, and tzedaka was the theme and the order for the evening
