After last year’s amazing summer and winter camps BH, Gan Yisroel Tzeirei Hashluchim Sweden is gearing up for another summer for young Shluchim and Shluchos from around Europe and beyond.
Over 120 campers attended the boys and girls camp last summer, with 33 more attending the girls winter camp.
“Our kids have a calendar counting up the days to camp,” says Ita Wolff from Helsinki, Finland, a mother of campers in both the boys and girls sessions. “It’s the highlight of their year!”
Mrs. Reizel Rosenfeld of Portugal reflects, “ Sweden is a great camp experience in a warm, chassidish environment.”
Many Shluchim live in isolated areas around Europe, without local Jewish schools. Camp provides the chance for kids to form friendships that they will treasure throughout their lives.
Gan Yisroel for European Tzeirei Hashluchos in Sweden began in 5769, and since its inception, well over a thousand campers have attended from dozens of cities around Europe, Asia and around the world, returning home glowing with a renewed chayus in their Shlichus, hiskashrus to the Rebbe and friendship.
This summer, Chabad Sweden will hold the 44th and 45th camp sessions.
“Camp is an important part of a Chassidishe chinuch,” says Rabbi Alexander Namdar, who directs the camp with his wife Leah. “Shabbos is camp is like Simchas Torah, and the chayus and the simcha impact the whole year.”
“The atmosphere of camp bezH strengthens the bonds of friendship between the campers, their joy in being Yidden and chassidim and a renewed chayus and hiskashrus as shluchim of the Rebbe,” says Leah Namdar.
The Summer camp program includes inspiring farbrengens, great learning , exciting activities, water palace, canoeing, boat rides to the Gothenburg Archipelago, Liseberg Amusement park, trips, night activities and much, much more.
The camp is a project of Chabad Sweden, in conjunction with MyShliach and Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch.
