A parent of a student in Bais Rivkah is alerting parents to be aware of a man lurking near the building and watching the young girls as they walked past to enter the school building.
“As I dropped my daughter off at Bais Rivkah Elementary School this morning and watched her enter the building, I noticed this man standing on the corner, watching the girls and acting inappropriately!” she told COLlive.com. “I was afraid his next step would be to expose himself.”
The parent says that there were no security guards or teachers standing on the corner at the time of the incident.
“I called Shomrim and another mother ran to tell the security guard at a different entrance. While this happened a bus pulled up and the girls came off while this man stood and watched. Who knows what he could have done next,” the alarmed parent said.
“Please publicize the real and present dangerous criminal predatory elements who exist in our neighborhood. They are undeterred by broad daylight or adults present,” the parent warned.
COLlive contacted Mike Baratta of the 71st Precinct in Crown Heights about this, and they are aware of the incident, during which the man acted highly inappropriate although it didn’t cross the legal line, they said.
They advise parents to remain alert and aware, and say that if observing an incident such as this to call 911.
COLlive spoke with a member of the school Board of Directors, who said “The school is aware of this incident, and will be having meetings with the school security guards to prevent incidents like this from happening again in the future,” he said.
I was walking on Brooklyn at about 8:25 am. This man was just standing close to the corner of Maple and Brooklyn (almost sure it was that corner) I was concerned right away when I saw him just standing there, hands in pockets doing nothing but staring. I then passed by, he asked me hey what’s up and I ignored and continued walking on a much quicker pace. I was terrified. He probably then saw there was a school on Lefferts and found that more interesting and moved there…
I think we need to stop depending on police and take action. If I would have been there I would have for sure looked for someone to be by my side (another parent/male) and said something!! This is disgusting and completely unacceptable all our schools need to have security! Our children are innocent and someone exposing themself to them could be traumatizing. I know because it happened to me a 27 year old married woman! In the train! Packed with people! When I think about it I feel so disgusted! But I feel good I did speak for myself and… Read more »
Yes I work at Beis Rivka and he greeted me inappropriately on the way to school this morning on lefferts coming from Kingston.
Please be aware and constantly on the lookout while walking your kids to school
Maybe he is registered predator already
There is another creep who also walks down brooklyn ave and he lives in the appatment buildingl on brooklyn ave b/t sterling and lefferts. He hangs around by bais rivkah.
Need to have a patrol of shmira, or police every day now till he is gone.

Instead of wringing your hands have Shomrim give this guy a good beating.
If anyone sees any of these creeps around, just text me 3473850436 I guarantee it will be over.

Due to the very obvious dangerous increase in Crime affecting Crown Heights, those that can get involved to help out should. All our Young Chevra, Older Mature Working Bocherim & Yungerleit in Crown Heights should be highly encouraged to step up to the plate, to get involved a little & to be active to an extent in helping their community. Older Mature Working Bocherim & Yungerlait should really consider joining either Shmira or Shomrim. We can’t always rely on other people in our community to step up to the plate to helpout, But to actually lead by example and volunteer yourself… Read more »
Beware of paedophiles.
We need security
He is in the lobby of new building 356 lefferts pressing buttons to get in.
Would’ve been great if police would put restraining orders
Where are the guards that are supposed to be watching?
To speak to him and call police?
School needs security on all sides of the building. It doesn’t help that the police cant do much
There are mentally ill men roaming around yelling and following people and some of them. Live at the shelter on maple between Brooklyn and Kingston. I mostly see them in the morning
be aware of the fact that mental illness has increased. lo oleinu.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how many mentally ill and homeless are going to be moved in to the new 900 apartments coming to 681 Clarkson, sponsored by Breaking Ground Homeless shelter ?
however I would like to know: How many of the big shots who approved construction of a building for the homeless and people with mental problems in a neighborhood full of children actually live in this neighborhood. Here’s a far better idea: Check the demographics of the various neighborhoods in the city. There are far, far fewer kids living on the Upper East Side of Manhattan than in Crown Heights/East Flatbush. The Upper East Side is a neighborhood of bleeding heart liberals who vote progressive no matter who the candidate is. How about insisting that they put their real estate… Read more »
