On Wednesday evening, a few hundred people gathered at an event in Baltimore, to mark the Shloshim – 30 days since the passing of Efraim.
Efraim was brutally murdered last month on the doorstep of his family’s home in Baltimore, MD.
The event was organized by the Vaad Harabonim of Baltimore, and was attended by prominent Rabonim and members of the Baltimore Jewish community.
Speakers included Rabbi Moshe Heinemann of Agudas Yisroel Baltimore and director of the StarK, Rabbi Yaakov Hopfer, Chairman of the Vaad Harabonim in Baltimore, Rabbi Shmuel Kaplan, Head Shliach to the Maryland Region, Rabbi Elchonon Lisbon of Beis Lubavitch Baltimore, as well as a member of Efraim’s family.
The Shloshim event also included a safety and security fair, where the community was able to meet local officials to discuss safety concerns in the community.
A Sefer Torah was begun in Efraim’s memory, which will be completed on his first Yahrtzeit. The celebration will take place at the very place where his life was so tragically taken.
