Sunday, the 7th of Cheshvan, was a special day for Rabbi Yosef and Tami Salamon, Shluchim and directors of Chabad of Bulgaria.
In a small ceremony in the Rohr Chabad Jewish Community Center in Sofia, their 12-year-old son Yitzchok started putting on Tefillin today in preparation of his Bar Mitzvah.
There was a second cause of celebration: Sunday marked the 20th anniversary of Rabbi and Mrs. Salamon moving on Shlichus to serve the Jewish community in the Balkan nation.
In the years since, the Salamons opened a Chabad center and brought down Rabbi Shlomo and Chaya Mushka Deutsch assisting them in Sofia, and Rabbi Yossi and Racheli Halperin who are the Shluchim in the resort town of Varna.
Participants in marking both celebrations were relatives and friends watching a live Zoom broadcast which Rabbi Salamon used to conduct a Chassidic Farbrengen.
