With schools and Hebrew Schools closed around the world due to the spread of Coronavirus, CKids has developed a special Hebrew School program to be aired online.
In little more than 24 hours since schools announced their closure, Rabbi Zalmy Loewenthal of CKids, a division of Merkos 302, assembled a team of veteran educators to create an educational program to ensure children around the world can continue their weekly Sunday Hebrew School learning.
“As more and more Hebrew schools were shutting down across the country, we knew that Chabad never closes its doors, so we had to do something,” Rabbi Zalmy Loewenthal told COLlive. “So we created this online Hebrew school as an amazing opportunity for children to learn at home about Pesach. Nothing can stop children from learning Torah,” he said.
“Mipi Olelim V’yonkim yesadita oz (Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength),” said Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos. “Therefore it’s integral that the children keep on learning.”
The program will be on the topic of the Exodus from Egypt, in preparation for the upcoming Pesach holiday.
Teachers include Older Division Grade 3-6:
Morah Gillie Shanowitz
Rabbi CB Alevsky
Rabbi Berel Paltiel
Rabbi Dovid Weinbaum
Younger Division Grade K-2nd:
Rabbi CB Alevsky
The Famous “Rabbi B” (Yossi Berktin)
“Thank you to the Hebrew School Vaad and the shluchim that volunteered to present classes,” Rabbi Loewenthal said.
