Crown Heights thoroughfare Eastern Parkway will be closed on Sunday, April 23, for the half marathon, along with other streets throughout Brooklyn.
Residents should expect heavy traffic in Crown Heights due to the street closures which will be in effect from 2:00 am – 2:00 pm.
The advisory released by the Brooklyn Marathon notes that cars may be towed along the route, but it does not specify which streets.
The Marathon route will take runners until Brooklyn Ave, but Eastern Parkway will be closed until Kingston Ave.
“Either way, it’s a good Mivtzoim opportunity,” a local activist notes.

We find this out 2 days before??
Even by our big events on Eastern Parkway, there’s plenty of notice including message boards, PSA’s by the 71st Precinct’s Twitter page – weeks in advance
Shame on the organizers and anyone else responsible to let the community know about this
I saw them on Tuesday. But they may have been there even earlier
What about Empire Blvd?
