After receiving hundreds of stunning submissions for the adult and Tzivos Hashem Tracks from around the world and hosting two separate gallery exhibits, the Chassidus in Color: Geula Edition art contest is culminating in a special Awards Ceremony open to the whole community to be held on Sunday, May 18 at 6:00 PM at the Jewish Children’s Museum, 792 Eastern Parkway.
The contest, which invited artists to explore the theme of Geula through the lens of Chassidus, features both an Adult Track and a Tzivos Hashem Track for children ages 7–14.
The artwork of the top 60 finalists will be on display at the JCM Gallery, alongside the vibrant submissions from the younger contestants.
Rabbi Simon Jacobson shares: “As a young man, I was always aware that the purpose of Torah was to apply it to life, and that’s what an artist is doing, through revealing its energy. When an artist is doing their work, they are looking at the same thing you are looking at, but they give you an inner perspective.”
Rabbi Simon Jacobson and renowned Chassidic artist Michoel Muchnik will address the audience. The event will be emceed by Alter Deitsch, with Shimmy Weinbaum announcing the winners of the Tzivos Hashem Track.
The adult track is being judged by an esteemed panel including:
Rabbi Yossi Paltiel
Rabbi Mendel Wolf
Michoel Muchnik
Estee Klein
Mush Kanner
Esther Maxwell
The Tzivos Hashem track is being judged by:
Yitzchok Moully
Moshe Katz
Miriam Rappaport
Rivka Taichman
