On the 10th of Kislev, which marked the day the Mitteler Rebbe was freed from prison, students of United Lubavitcher Yeshiva on Ocean Parkway had the privilege of visiting Rabbi Poupko who is a descendant of the Mitteler Rebbe.
Rabbi Poupko showed the boys the Sefer Torah that belonged to the Mitteler Rebbe, and related the story of how it was passed down from generation to generation and how he had the privilege of receiving it.
Before leaving, the students had a chance to see the Torah up close.
Last year the students had the privilege to visit Rabbi Groner. Visits like these undoubtedly leave an indelible impression on our children’s minds.
Notice in one of the photos a picture of the Chofetz Chaim hanging on the wall near the photo of the Alter Rebbe.
Rabbi poupko’s father was “Meshamesh” served the Chofetz Chaim (in the CC old age) so he related to us bachurim when he visited the yeshiva TTL on Ocean Parkway many years ago.
Rabbi Poupko’s father would frequent 770. There’s a famous photo of him talking with the Rebbe in front of 770.
Would someone please post the Photo.

There is also another picture of the levaya of the Chofetz Chaim and Rav Pupko is visible carrying the Aron at the levaya
