Igud Mehalei Yeshivos of Crown Heights was privileged to work with Rabbi Yitzchok Zirkind OBM, who passed away last week, in conjunction with the Shoine Halachos program for eighth grade students of Oholei Menachem and United Lubavitcher Yeshiva of Crown Street.
Its goal is to expand the knowledge of Halacha and Yiras Shamayim of the students of our community as well as to encourage and guide them in the study of Halacha with the Alter Rebbe’s Psak. The finale of the program is a Chidon amongst contestants of both yeshivos that score above 80% on written tests.
In the past, Rabbi Zirkind reviewed the tests and prepared the final questions for the Chidon. He served as advisor to the program and was on the panel of judges for the Chidon.
This year, the program will include extra learning in memory of Rabbi Zirkind. Students of grades 7 and 8 are welcome to join in the extra learning, details in the flyer below.
His father (may live many more years) has 3 names, Eliezer Tzvi Zev.
What a wonderful and special Rav. May Hashem confort the entire family
kal hakavod as this is what Rabbi Zirkind a.h. was so wonderfully involved with in memory of other rabbonim.
