What if you could step inside your daughter’s school day and see who she’s really becoming?
Students spend the majority of their day in school—often more hours than they spend with their own families. But how much do we actually know about what’s shaping them during that time? What skills are they building? What values are they internalizing?
At Chabad Girls Academy (CGA), we believe parents deserve to see more than just report cards. That’s why this past June of 2025, we reimagined our Annual Award Ceremony—not just as a celebration, but as a meaningful window into our students’ development over the year.
Each student presented a researched and reflective project on a Jewish woman who impacted history from the times of the Torah till today. These weren’t just reports—they were insights into the lessons our students took to heart and how they connect to real role models. The girls also created a very cute, hands-on Navi game, giving parents a glimpse into how we learn—using engaging, interactive methods to bring the material to life.
Rabbi Levi Garelik opened the event with a letter from the Rebbe about using summer for continued Chassidishe growth. He also shared his personal story of when he was a young boy growing up on Shichus in Milan, Italy attending a small school with just two students in his class—emphasizing how an environment like CGA, with its close-knit feel and focused attention, can make all the difference.
A key feature of the day was the presentation of customized awards, each tailored by teachers to highlight specific character traits or achievements unique to each student. These recognitions are a reflection of CGA’s individualized approach to education.
The ceremony also included the Yocheved Gourarie Kindness Award, presented by Mrs. Dini Gourarie. Chosen by their classmates, Yehudis Nadler, Shterna Sara Werde, and Shneuri Zik were recognized for their exceptional kindness, with each student receiving a $100 cash prize. Students also selected Miss Rivka Gribov as the teacher who truly embodied kindness and empathy to every student she taught, awarding her a $500 cash prize in appreciation.
The Tanya Raffle, sponsored by Mrs. Tamar Pevzner לעילוי נשמת יעקב בן שבתאי, was based on daily Let’s Talk Tanya shiurim by Rabbi Naftoli Silberberg. Mrs. Pevzner passionately initiated this program, believing every girl should learn and understand Tanya concepts that reshape how they view themselves and the world, and deepen their connection with Hashem. Congratulations to Shneuri Zik, this year’s winner, who received a $500 cash prize.
We closed the ceremony with appreciation for our dedicated teaching and administrative staff—without whom the school wouldn’t be as special as it is. To show our gratitude, we gifted each staff member with seforim and flowers in recognition of their hard work and commitment.
At CGA, we emphasize Hakaros Hatov—gratitude—not just as a value, but as a daily practice.
