On Thursday, Chof Alef Adar Sheini, Cheder Lubavitch of Morristown celebrated once again, for the second year in a row a very special event in which a second Talmid made a Siyum on the entire Mishnayos.
Hatomim Levi Yitzchok Shmotkin, an 11 year old student at Cheder Lubavitch, completed the entire Mishnayos and made a Siyum on the entire Shisha Sedrei Mishneh, saying over a beautiful Sicha and Hadran of the Rebbe in the presence of Talmidim in Cheder and distinguished guest who joined this event.
Encouraged by his parents Rabbi and Mrs. Elkana Shmotkin and inspired by his cousin Dovber Shmotkin who completed the entire Mishnayus last year, Levik made sure to learn mishnayus every day during his free time after school together with his chavrusa as well as on the way to and from Cheder, in order to conclude Mishnayus before his Bar Mitzvah.
Rabbi Aharon Wilschanski, Principal of the Cheder began the program welcoming all the Talmidim and guest, and giving a Brocha to the Chasan Hatorah and to all the Talmidim.
Rabbi Moshe Herson, Head Shliach of New Jersey and Dean of the Rabbinical College of America gave over words of inspiration and concluded with presenting Levik with a special gift and challenging all the Talmidim to do the same.
Rabbi Elkana Shmotkin related a personal experience with the Rebbe and gave special thanks to Levik’s teacher Rabbi Yosef Elharrar and Chavrusa Mendy Scheruff who both followed and also shared Divrei Torah and their pride with the Talmidim.
Rabbi Wilschanski concluded the event with presenting Levik with a special certificate of achievement.
Talmidim were treated to a festive Seuda in honor of the Siyum and each boy received a unique pocket size photo of the Rebbe as a Teshurah. Special thanks to Rabbi Shmotkin and The Living Archive at JEM.
