Mark my words: next year every school in Crown Heights will be doing this lesson!

Thank you, Lamplighters (and Mariah Montessori, and Rabbi Rietti, and all you Jewish Montessori/”Darko” schools out there and the leaders of the greater Jewish Montessori movement) for tools which make Judaism come alive!

And thank you, Moshe and Rivkah Schack, for bringing these tools to Crown Heights.

This lesson is a classic Montessori lesson that’s meant to show our ‘small’ people are in relation to the long history of the world and all the creations. R’ Rietti adapted it to be a timeline of Jewish history, which Jewish Montessori schools use as an invaluable tool. The Schacks tweaked the language of the presentation and the materials, and also include a segment of history relevant to Chassidim and our mission in this world.

amazing idea!

This school is really thinking outside the box and making history relevant! Can there be an alternative to putting the pictures of Rabbeim on the floor?

Not taking away credits from the teacher who implemented this lesson, for all those who are looking to do the same, You can go to Rabbi Rietti’s course and he will teach you how and give you the materials to teach this lesson. The teacher surely deserve credit for implementing such a wonderful idea, But hakorasIf hatov should be given to Rabbi Rietti and his name should… Read more »

Kudos to this Educator who took the time and effort to make this lesson meaningful to his students. They will surely remember this class for years to come.

WOW!! WOW!!

Rabbi Rietti has been advocating such hands on teaching for years. I remember Rabbi Rietti doing a similar presentation at my son’s school – Darko in L.A. last year. The kids loved how they where able to experience and be a part of Jewish history. Rabbi Rietti has a beautiful program which he sells on his website: Jewishinspiration.com to help teach Jewish history in such a hands on way.

I am crying right now, knowing how much faith I have in our school and how there is so much to look forward to in my child’s development. Thank you G-d for this school!
