As Jewish camps across America buzz with excitement, few see the extraordinary efforts that make them possible. For CGI United, this summer is far more than schedules and activities—it’s a mission born from sacrifice, faith, and unshakable commitment.
While Israel faced lockdowns, daily sirens, and ongoing war, many of CGI United’s leaders and counselors prepared not from peace and routine, but from bomb shelters and uncertainty. With flights canceled and borders tight, their path to camp was anything but typical.
Some families made a 40-hour journey through Egypt—the only available route—traveling with armed escorts and young children, navigating a modern-day exodus with strength and clarity.
Coordinating everything from the ground in Israel, the operations team worked tirelessly under pressure. Staff members balanced logistics, safety concerns, and caring for their families, all while staying focused on a single goal: to bring the experience of camp—of joy, growth, and connection—to our children.
This wasn’t just about summer fun. It was about building the future. And against all odds, CGI United brought their full team from Israel to the U.S. in time to open camp.
Now, with laughter echoing across the grounds, CGI United stands not only as a camp—but as living proof of what’s possible when purpose leads the way.
