Over the past four weeks, more than 1,000 Jewish children were immersed in the Living Mikdash curriculum in South Africa, learning how every part of the Beis HaMikdash holds a lesson for their own lives. They discovered how they themselves can be a Living Mikdash, serving Hashem with depth and connection.
This learning culminated in a Living Mikdash Exhibition on August 24th. After weeks of study, children went home and created their own projects—beautiful, thoughtful, and deeply personal models. Each project reflected one element of the Beis HaMikdash and how the child lives as a “Living Mikdash” in that way.
The results were breathtaking. 300 children contributed projects to the Expo, filling the hall with creativity, talent, and heartfelt messages. Families and friends came to witness this extraordinary display, with over 800 people in attendance.
To celebrate the children’s hard work and to make them feel special for the time and effort they put into learning and applying these messages, we followed the Expo with a Mikdash Carnival. The day was filled with joy and excitement—inflatable rides, horse riding, a live concert by Shmuley Brill, and even a once-in-a-lifetime prize: 15 lucky children won a helicopter ride!
“It was a beautiful day of unity, with families from across the community joining together—learning about the Mikdash, reciting words of Torah and Tefillah, giving Tzedakah, and celebrating the children’s growth in such a meaningful way.” shared Devorah Leah Wineberg, Director of Tzivos Hashem South Africa, “We have no doubt this experience and the lessons learned will remain engraved in the children’s hearts”

Well Done R’zevi and devorah leah! And the most exceptional Jhb community 🙂
