In honor of Purim, Lubavitcher Yeshiva is publishing the bar scene from this year’s production, “Generation Seven – The Intruder.”
The scene depicts the Mesiras Nefesh of the Frierdiker Rebbe during his secret mission which required him to spend Shabbos in a bar with drunken Russian peasants.
The scene includes a song about the sad reality of alcoholism as well as enumerates the Rebbe’s unwavering guidelines on alcohol consumption which apply “even Simchas Torah and on Purim.”
All sources from the Rebbe on the subject used in the song can be found here: yttl.org/mashke
The scene concludes with a catchy song to help memorize the Sheva Mitzvos B’nei Noach.

And young teenagers performing this is double brilliant!! These lessons will stick with them forever! Yasher Koach!
The attached sources make it clear that the Rebbe always refers to it as a Hagbalah and Takanah, that gives it a positive connotation, never does the Rebbr refer to it as a Gzeirah, which sounds negative. This should be reflected in caption
On Shabbos Chukas 5751 the Rebbe used this phrase about the guidelines:
חוקה חקקתי, גזירה גזרתי, ואין לך רשות להרהר אחריה
(found it in the attached sources booklet)
Uses the words “Gezeira Gazarti” – so that might be the source why Lubavitchers often call it “the Rebbe’s Gezera”
What the sicha says, is that הפצת המעיינות is what true Shpitz Chabad is about, and that is a Gzeirah Gozarti etc. This is way it is recorded in all the Hanochos of the sicha.
It was called Gzeirah for almost 30 years before the sicha of Chukas 5751
So proud of you!

This is so important and it’s amazing that you teach it to them when they’re young, once someone is attached it’s a different story unfortunately…
That’s a great song to memorize the Sheva Mitzvos! I can’t believe this is the first time it’s been done, was this ever done before?
As someone who watched all 5 Generation Seven productions I am genuinely impressed by how they are all so packed with Toichen! (And humor!)
What you are doing for the next generation is incredible!
