On Sunday, a Siyum Harambam ceremony, concluding the 42 annual cycle of the daily study of the Rambam‘s Mishne Torah, was held at Chabad Zichron Kedoshim in Montreal, Canada.
The event brought together residents from the Jewish community, saluting those who partake in the study that the Rebbe initiated to unite the Jewish people by learning Torah.
Among the notable participants were Chief Rabbi of Montreal Yonasan Binyomin Weiss, Montreal’s Skvere Dayan Rabbi Yochanan Wosner, Head Shliach Rabbi Berel Mochkin, Lubavitch rabbonim Rabbi Berel Bell, Rabbi Dovid Rephael Banon, Rabbi Avraham Benshimon, Rabbi Moshe Stern, Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Leibel Kaplan and Dayan Rabbi Ephraim Chaim Cremisi.
Rabbi Shmuel Schneur, Menahel Ruchni of Beth Rivkah Academy for girls in Montreal, emceed the event. Rabbi Wosner shared remarks, with Rabbi Weiss being honored with concluding the Rambam.
Rabbi Ronnie Fine, host of the event as Director of Chabad Zichron Kedoshim and who has been teaching Tanya and Chassidus for over four decades, begins the new learning cycle.
Guest speakers were Rabbi Meir Elituv, editor of the Pardes Hamelech edition of the Rambam, which includes the Rebbe’s teachings, and Rabbi Sholom Moshe Paltiel, Director of Chabad of Port Washington in New York.
Following the event, a chassidishe farbrengen focused on the Rambam and the day itself – Beis Iyar, the birthday of the Rebbe Maharash.
