Simi Gives $18,000 to Ohel Cheder

Simi Jacobson, CEO of The J. Group, pledged $18,000 for a Scholarship Fund of Cheder at the Ohel, an elementary school in Cambria Heights, Queens, which caters to children of Anash and Shluchim.

Jacobson, a supporter of many charitable and educational causes, said: “I’m very proud to be a supporter of Cheder at the Ohel, a school that is committed to excellence, helping those children that need personal attention, and to perpetuating the Rebbe’s legacy at the Ohel. I urge others to follow suit.”

In addition to his personal financial commitment, Jacobson will be introducing to the Cheder a number of his associates from Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, as well as some major Wall Street players.

Jacobson worked in the past with renowned Australian philanthropist Rabbi Joseph Gutnick , an early contributer to Ohel Chabad-Lubavitch, which oversees and hosts visitors to the Rebbe’s resting place, and now will help see to the success of the Cheder as well.

“We are embarking on a building campaign, which will – with Hashem’s help – finally provide the Cheder with a much needed, all encompassing facility,” said Rabbi Levi Zarchi, Director of Development for the Cheder.

Other supporters of the school are Kasriel Shemtov and Faivish Pewzner.
