Hundreds of people attended Thursday night’s concert dubbed the Orlando Pesach Unity Concert featuring the 8th Day with a guest appearance from Dr. Laz and the Cure.
Taking place at the Orlando Sun Resort and Convention Center, the audience was treated to some of the best songs from Dr Laz and the 8th Day band led by Shmuly Marcus and Bentzi Marcus.
Sponsored by Chabad of South Orlando, the concert brought together the local Jews as well as the many frum tourists that come to spend Pesach in the warm Florida weather (an estimated 15,000 frum people spend Pesach there).
Additionally, the concert brought together many of the Chabad Shluchim families from Central Florida.
The concert began with some of Dr. Laz’s greatest hits and a slideshow of Chabad of South Orlando’s work in the community led by Rabbi Yosef Konikov and his wife Chani.
8th Day was then welcomed on stage singing some of their best hits including ‘It’s Shabbos Now’ ‘Rain’ as well as some popular Jewish songs including ‘Asher Boro’ from Piamenta and ‘Dollar Bill’ in tribute to the late Moshe Yess.
It was then that a short intermission took place to feature the Unity Music Video for the imprisoned Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin. Dr. Laz encouraged everyone to do a mitzvah in his merit mentioning that we are in Chodesh Hageulah and may he have a true yeshua.
A shout out and a big Yasher Koach was made to Rubashkin’s lead attorney Mr. Nat Lewin of Washington, DC who was in attendance.
The concert concluded with the Marcus Brother’s smash hit Yalili which had the crowd rocking.
