What I don’t understand and would like someone to clarify, is that growing up we were trained not to eat anything after candle lighting on Yom Kippur night, except for very young children who still wanted a bottle at bed time. The children are not hungry, probably would not be allowed snack on a regular weeknight after eating supper, so why are they encouraged to nash in shul. In the morning was another story, although we didn’t need to fast, it often was a competition to see how long we could wait for breakfast, with older children still under bar… Read more »
