What I don’t understand and would like someone to clarify, is that growing up we were trained not to eat anything after candle lighting on Yom Kippur night, except for very young children who still wanted a bottle at bed time. The children are not hungry, probably would not be allowed snack on a regular weeknight after eating supper, so why are they encouraged to nash in shul.
