Nissim and Rina Boaron of Crown Heights, whose son Schneur was critically injured after being hit by a car on Tuesday, report a positive change in his wellbeing.
“We want to report the good news that Shneur Zalman opened his eyes and woke up,” the father wrote on Tuesday about his 13 year old son who was suffering from bleeding in the brain due to injuries sustained in the accident.
“We are sure that we got Shneur back in merit of all your prayers that slip open the gates of Heaven and in merit of all the Mitzvos that each and every one of you have done,” he added.
One of the boy’s first activities was to put on Tefillin which he recently began to do daily with his Bar Mitzvah celebration.
Boaron’s sister Chanie wrote the following to COLlive.com:
“We would like to share Hashem’s miracles with you, Schneor woke up!
“We have no doubt that this miracle is due to all your tefillos and Hachlatos that broke through all gates in heaven! We thank Hashem for his kindness he has bestowed upon us!
“We have no words to thank you for your love and support you have shown us in the past week!
“Schneur was ours and he became klal Yisroel’s and we can’t thank you enough for everything you have done in his merit!
“May we be zoche to celebrate Schneur’s seudas Hodaya in yerushalyim with Moshiach!
We request that you continue to daven for Schneur Zalman Ovadia Ben Rina Miriam for a continued speedy recovery.”

I don’t know what happened in this case, but I do know that we live in a neighborhood where cars have been known to turn corners fast without watching for pedestrians. These cars are often driven by those who have no respect for the value of human lives. This is, in my opinion, the reason for many of the ‘incidents’- although teaching children can’t hurt.
איה יופי, כולנו דמעות!!!!!! הלוואי הלאה!!!!
B”H he’s improving! I’m very happy.
How to prevent such tragedies?
We perhaps should have some time of education where kids are exposed to cars so they learn to fear them. A woman told me that she reads a book about this (illustrated?) and it puts fear into children’s hearts so they will be careful before they run out into the street.
My grandson, Menachem, had such an experience two summers ago.
