Shmuly Oirechman, son of Tallahassee Shluchim Shneur and Chana Oirechman who was injured after being shot in the eye with an arrow, will celebrate his 6th birthday this Shabbos.
Shmuly has been undergoing many surgeries and treatment following his injury a year and a half ago, in an effort to save his eye and hopefully restore his vision.
“Shmuly has made miraculous progress,” his father Rabbi Oirechman told COLlive. “His doctor is so amazed by his healing process and the fact that his retina is still attached, and the incredible progress Shmuli is making, that it’s enough to make him a religious Jew – he is so inspired by it.”
“There is no doubt that the davening of all of Klal Yisroel around the world and Mitzvos done on Shmuly’s behalf is what is helping him,” Oirechman says.
Shmuli has a long way to go to recovery, with many painful treatments ahead.
“Please continue to keep Boruch Shmuel ben Chana in your prayers – his new kapitel is kapitel 7 – and include additional Torah study, acts of charity and kindness, and specifically increase in loving each other in honor of Shmuly,” Oirechman said.
