As reported on COLlive.com, a pro-Palestinian protest has been planned for this Shabbos afternoon near the Crown Heights neighborhood.
Shmira is advising the community to stay away from the area this Shabbos, October 28th, at 3:00 PM in front of the Brooklyn Museum on Eastern Parkway.
“We are in constant contact with the NYPD 71 Pct, and they are fully aware of this event,” they said in a statement.
“The NYPD and CH Shmira will have extra patrols out during this time.
We are requesting the community to try and avoid the area and remain vigilant.
In the case of an emergency, do not hesitate to call Shmira at 718-221-0303 and 911, 24/7.
We are fully operational on Shabbos for emergencies.”

Why are we being told to be afraid. Why are they normalizing that if there is a protest we are in danger.

We should consult Rabonim. According to the Shulchan Aruch, it may even be permissible to violate Shabbos for such matters.
And there is no invasion. There is NO threat to Jewish lives, so there is no heter to carry arms on Shabbos (if you don’t use the eruv) and no heter to fight them, which will only get you arrested.
