Shluchim Kids Celebrate School

Children from all across the globe attending the Nigri International Shluchim Online School enjoyed their annual Day of Celebration, learning, seminars and banquet this past Thursday at the Chai Center of Dix Hills with special thanks to Rabbi Yanky Saacks.

The annual Nigri International Shluchim Online School Day of Celebration provides its students with the rare opportunity for live interaction with their teachers and peers. It also provides their parents the chance to meet and draw from each other’s experiences, making for an enriching and informative experience.

The children’s program began with a school assembly and game led by the principal of the school, Mrs. Malkie Gurkow and teachers. There was also a bowling trip, as well as class-time where the students learned in groups with their classmates and teachers.

Meanwhile, their parents enjoyed lectures and seminars by renowned speakers and education specialists:
Dr. Chaim Nissel on monitoring and improving the social development of our children, A Mechanchim Panel moderated by Rabbi Shais Taub, with speakers Rabbi Avraham Wolowik, Rabbi Zalman Leib Markowitz and Rabbi Hershel Lustig.

A Parents Panel moderated by Rabbi Avi Rubenfeld, with presenters Rabbi Mendel Loschak, Rabbi Asher Federman and Rabbi Simon Jacobson.

The highlights of the day included a theme song presentation by the 5th and 7th Grades. There was also an emotional speech by Rabbi Levi Zirkind, describing what is was like to send children away from home to learn before the creation of the Nigri International Shluchim Online School.

The pinnacle of the event was the spontaneous dancing which broke out at the end of the banquet, encapsulating the unity and inspiration which is at the forefront of the Nigri International Shluchim Online School.
