Hundreds of Chabad Houses and Jewish communities from around the world are slated to join “One Shabbat One World,” a Shabbos weekend dedicated to Moshiach.
On Shabbos Parshas B’shalach, January 29-30 / 14-15 Shvat 2010, Jews of all ages and affiliations will unite in keeping the Jewish day of rest.
Organizers, an annual project of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch’s Moshiach Campaign, are anticipating it as the largest turnout ever and urge Shluchim to invite all to attend.
“Last year over 300 shluchim joined and this year we’d like that number to be up by 100,” said Rabbi Chaim Hershkowitz, coordinator of the project.
“But it’s not just about numbers, the Shabbaton is a great way for Shluchim to talk about Moshiach with its particular relevance to Shabbos.”
Rabbi Moshe Wilansky, Shliach in Portland, Maine, who heads the Moshiach Campaign committee, said: “By observing Shabbos as one united Jewish people we have the ability to bring about the revelation of Moshiach.”
The International Moshiach Campaign provides promotional materials and helps coordinate the efforts of Shluchim.
o my gosh go get lives ok? somebody is actually keeping busy and trying to make the world a better place if all you can contribut are words of discouragement you’re of no use at all.

The Rebbe DID support every single Jewish female from the age of 3 to light Shabbos candles, even as a one time thing. The logic behind that was explained in numerous sichas.
So was the Rebbe for Shabbos awearness? YES
Was he for this One Shabbos? I can’t say. Maybe. Maybe Not.
Read people! its a shabbos awareness!

What’s your point, we should stop keeping Shabbos?
There is a video of a man who had a campain that everyone in the world will keep one shabbos, based on the Medrash that says that if all the Jews keep one shabbos Moshiach will come. So he comes to the Rebbe and askes for the Rebbe to join the bandwagon and endorse his idea. In no shape or form did the Rebbe give him any haskamah and told him so clearly. When watching the video one can see how the man keeps pressing for a haskamah and the Rebbe tells him clearly a no. When did that change?… Read more »
