The Shluchim Office is nearing three years since it opened the Pomegranate Suites for Shluchim, a four-star hotel located in the heart of Crown Heights exclusively for the use of visiting Shluchim.
The suites feature elegantly-appointed private rooms, each with comfortable beds, a writing desk, closet and security safe. The main room hosts a comfortable lounge and sitting area, a workstation with Internet and printer, and a cafeteria with gourmet coffee, drinks and snacks. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the Pomegranate Suites.
Built and sponsored by Reb Avraham Banda of Pomegranate Supermarket, the Shluchim Suites act as an additional step in providing for the visiting Shluchim who are used to having to serve others even as they themselves may need a hand to get some things done.
The only organization established at the request of the Rebbe specifically to serve the needs of Shluchim worldwide, the Shluchim Office has been serving the Rebbe’s Army for 28 years.
“In the three years since we opened our doors,” says Rabbi Gedalya Shemtov, the director of The Shluchim Office, “we have seen an unbelievable demand for the Suites; much more than we could have expected.”
According to reservation data, some 800 Shluchim have booked the Shluchim Office hospitality while visiting New York.
“Thanks for enabling Shluchim to have a place to stay in Crown Heights,” wrote one grateful Shliach. “Coming from a small town and having no family in New York can be daunting. And everything was so clean, fresh and beautiful – we felt like we were at an upscale hotel.”
“We are always looking for more ideas for how we can assist the Shluchim in their work, and whenever we hear of a need, we try to come up with a solution. The creation of the Pomegranate Suites are to the credit of Reb Dudi Farkash and the sponsorship of Reb Avraham Banda,” added Shemtov.

It’s beautiful to see the ‘bridershaft’ between Lubavitch shluchim and Satmar – but there’s a huge Lubavitcher kehilla out there. Why isn’t the hotel open to them? I guess ‘membership has its’ privileges’…although i thought Lubavitch WAS a membership..

I would say a shliach that even lives near or with possible family in Crown Heights, for his shlichus work and peace of mind a room like this is way easier if he is in crown heights for the night.
