The delegation of 27 Chabad Shluchim from the US and other countries continues its journey of strengthening in the Holy Land, in the aftermath of the shocking attack by Hamas and the current war.
On Tuesday, the Shluchim visited the city of Sderot, which is one of the most targeted areas in the country, enduring one of the harshest blows during the surprise attack, with the infiltration of terrorists who murdered dozens of the city’s residents.
The Shluchim were received by Rabbi Moshe Zev Pizem and his family, who work tirelessly with dedication. They heard about the extensive activities of the Shluchim who are dedicated to their mission and provide both spiritual and material assistance to the city’s residents. During the visit, the members of the delegation heard firsthand accounts of the terrible attack on Simchas Torah, and the miracle the Shluchim themselves had in escaping the terror.
Later in the day, the Shluchim visited other cities in the south, where they provided support and Chizuk to the Rebbe’s Shluchim and their families, as well as the local residents. In Beer Sheva, they paid a Shiva visit to the family of a man who was murdered by Hamas terrorists. In Ashkelon, they viewed firsthand a school which was sustained a direct hit by a rocket.
The Shluchim also met with military and security personnel and received a security briefing on the current situation in the country.
The trip is being led by Chabad of Israel Emergency National Response Center, part of Tzeirei Agudas Chabad, headed by Rabbi Yosef Aharonov. The Chabad of Israel Emergency National Response Center not only provides humanitarian assistance to soldiers and affected families, but also initiates visits by leaders from around the world. The director of the Emergency National Response Center, Rabbi Levi Mendelson, is closely accompanying each part of the visit.
The members of the delegation include Chabad Shluchim from all over the US, as well as from Canada and Australia. Among them are shluchim from Florida, New Jersey, Texas, California, New Orleans, Illinois, Iowa, New York and Arizona.
The trip was organized by Chabad Shluchim Rabbi David Eliezrie from California, Rabbi Yitzchak Wolff from Chicago, and Rabbi Yossi Biston from Florida. The trip was organized with the assistance of Fleischman Peles Productions.
