Hundreds of educational institutions have been using The Chanukah Big Book, If the Candles Could Speak, to educate people from all walks of life.
Now, Dassie Prus, shlucha, author and publisher of Jewish Big Books has produced the book into a professionally animated video. Etti Silberstein, shlucha in Argentina, dedicated herself to dealing with all the logistics and producing this exciting film in English. It will be available in Spanish as well. The video is professionally narrated and recorded by the talented Tali Yess at NY Studios.
This video was created for Chanukah Programming, and many are planning on using it for their Drive-In and Zoom events. Prus realized that there is a need for digital products due to our new virtual reality. The news of its release has generated much excitement. “This is amazing. I’m so excited. Thanks for making these beautiful teaching tools for us all!” shares a shlucha.
Prus asked Reuven Centner of Creative Chinuch to create a professional interactive storytime slideshow which has been used for the past couple of weeks to teach the story of Chanukah in Hebrew Schools and virtual storytime.
“Thank you for this sideshow of absolutely beautiful pictures!” A Shlucha emailed to Prus.
“I can’t believe how far this has come,” Prus reflects. “Thirteen years ago, I felt the story of Chanukah needed to be told in an appealing and captivating way for all communities. What started out as a story on a looseleaf paper, sitting beside my little one playing during a snowstorm, has now morphed into a: BIG book, Medium book, mini booklet, virtual slideshow, and now an animated video.”
Prus has also published a Purim Big Book and The Passover Big Book is coming in February. Preorders are open.
