The Shloshim of Rabbi Shmuel Benjamin OBM, was commemorated with his family, friends and hometown community at Tzemach Tzedek Community Centre in Sydney. Rabbi Benjamin, a beloved father, friend, and primary school teacher, touched the lives of many in Crown Heights and Australia.
The event, MCd by Rabbi Yehuda Spielman, provided a platform for heartfelt tributes and reminiscences from those who knew Rabbi Benjamin intimately. Filipa Benjamin, Rabbi Benjamin’s mother, shared poignant reflections on her son’s life, capturing the essence of his devotion to family and community. The event also featured speeches from close friends Chanie Amzalak, Cassy Nathan, and Dovid Bleier, each offering a unique perspective on Rabbi Benjamin’s character and the lasting impressions he left on those around him.
Rabbi Shmuel Benjamin was not only a cherished family member and friend but also a dedicated primary school teacher. Rabbi Benjamin’s commitment to his family and community was further exemplified by his role as a co-founder of Keren Simchas Chosson V’Kallah (KSCVK), an organization co-founded with his wife Devorah Benjamin, dedicated to supporting weddings within the community. Through his involvement with KSCVK, and support for his wife Devorah, who the Chabad community know and love for her selfless devotion to KSCVK, Rabbi Benjamin touched the lives of countless individuals, ensuring that joyous occasions were accessible to all, regardless of financial circumstances.
