A Shloshim memorial tribute took place in Chicago Thursday, Rosh Chodesh Sivan, honoring the life of Rebbetzin Evelyn Shusterman OBM.
The evening was held in Congregation Bnei Ruven on N. Whipple, the Shul built and led by the late Rabbi Tzvi Shusterman and his Rebbetzin.
The program began with the recital of Tehillim by Rabbi Shmarya Shusterman of Chicago and was followed by a Siyum Mishnayos by Rabbi Yosef Shusterman, Director of Chabad of Northern Beverly Hills, CA.
Other speakers were Rabbi Baruch Hertz, Rov of Bnei Ruven; Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz, Head Shliach of Illinois; Dr. Ira Weiss, a student and close friend of the Shustermans; Rabbi Yisroel Shusterman of Monsey.
Her grandson Rabbi Eli Mendel Shusterman of Pittsburgh and great-grandson Zevi Shusterman, a student in the Lubavitch Mesivta of Chicago, spoke as well.

Rebbetzin Shusterman was my dear aunt. She set a tremendous example for her family and entire Jewish community around the world.. She made an effort to attend each and every family simcha and always greeted everyone b’sever panim yafos. We miss her terribly. May her neshama have an aliya in the zchus of the siyum held on the shloshim..
What a great resource ! It’s wonderful to be able to see the pictures and hear what everyone said at the Shloshim. The speakers are fantastic. (btw… you can fast forward on the audio if you wish to hear specific parts.)
To #3 – That Mesivta student is Rebbetzin Shusterman’s great-grandson, to address the crowd as the (oldest) representative of her 70+ great-grandchildren, KA”H.
A beautiful book “time made timeless” about rebbitzen Shusterman was published. It is being sold by the seniors of lubavitch girls high school in Chicago. It is only $18 complete with pictures etc.. Contact the school to purchase one.
Wait, they had a boy from mesivta address the crowd? aren’t those high school girls in the back?
Great photos and Audio !! Thanks !!
A beautiful tribute to an amazingly wonderful woman!!!!
