Shlomo Fried, a former long-time Crown Heights resident who recently lived in Israel, passed away on Wednesday, 9 Teves, 5778.
He was 67.
Shlomo suffered from muscle dystrophy, seizures, and many health difficulties.
While living in Crown Heights he volunteered for the Ahavas Chesed organization for 8 years, transporting patients to hospitals, bringing food to patients and running blood drives.
He later moved to Israel.
He is survived by his wife Rachel, and 2 children.
A fund has been set up to assist his wife during this difficult time, having accumulated many debts due to the great medical expenses.

He used to help out kids at risk a good ear for listeneing
It’s truly mazing how he could drive and do all those other things with such a sever ailment.
His was a truly great neshama.
