Shliach Yonah Grossman of the Chabad Jewish Center of North Dakota opened the House of Representatives this past Tuesday in North Dakota with a prayer.
He mentioned the Sheva Mitzvos Bnei Noach and Pesach sheni, and concluded with adon olam.
Due to legislative delays, after the prayer was complete and the pledge of allegiance was recited, the sessions was dismissed until later in the afternoon, making those two items the only ones on the agenda for the morning.
Rabbi Grossman was invited by Rep. Bette Grande who has also been instrumental in arranging the public menorah lighting in the North Dakota State capital for the past two years.
While at the capital Rabbi Grossman also met with Rep. Elliot Glassheim, a Jewish member of the House of Representatives who has opened the House with a prayer in the past.
