A Chof Beis Shvat Farbrengen was held in New Haven, CT, organized by Oholei Yosef Yitzchak, led by Avi Dagan.
The guest speaker was Shliach to Guilford, CT, Rabbi Yossi Yaffe, who spoke about the significance of the role of the Jewish woman, and her important role in Judaism, as well as the reason why a person’s Jewish identity is determined by his or her mother.

Rabbi Yaffe also spoke about Rochel Imenu’s Mesiras Nefesh to be buried outside of Me’aras Hamachpela for the sake of her children, noting that we learn that we must have mesiras nefesh to go out and bring Jews closer to Yiddishkeit.
Rabbi Berel Levitin also spoke about Chof Beis Shvat and the Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka.
Rabbi Boruch Sholom Kahn, cousin of Rabbi Yoel Kahn, the Rebbe’s Chozer, spoke as well, sharing three personal stories of encounters he had with the Rebbetzin.
