Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Negev region of southern Israel this week to commemorate the anniversary of the passing of the state’s first leader David Ben-Gurion and learn from his legacy.
During the visit to the Sde Boker kibbutz, Netanyahu received inspiration from another source as well.
Attending the ceremonies on Thursday and Friday was Rabbi Yehuda Teichtal, a community rabbi in Berlin who serves as the Head Shliach of Chabad in Germany’s capital city.
Rabbi Teichtal was invited to the event by the philanthropists who contributed to the renovation of Ben Gurion’s modest home into the Ben-Gurion Heritage Institute, a new and interactive visitors center.
This project was donated by the Prajs and Drimmer families, prominent members of the Jewish community in Berlin, who asked Rabbi Teichtal to travel with them to Israel for the occasion.
Meeting Netanyahu at the event, Rabbi Teichtal reported about his participation in the International Kinus Hashluchim convention in New York which took place this week and drew record numbers.
Netanyahu recorded a special video message to the convention. “As Shluchim, you do holy work around the world,” he said. “This gathering isn’t only important to the Chabad movement but also to Jews from around the world.”
Rabbi Teichtal thanked him for the remarks and shared with him a message in the name of the Jewish community Berlin: “Be strong in these challenging days.”

your shlichus is really an inspiration!
A yasher koach for using the opportunity to encourage and inspire
Has anyone reminded Netanyahu that the Rebbe said not to give in and when we will be strong they will be weak. Why are we still negotiating when there is no peace partner?
Every time I see a photo of Netanyahu with Chabadniks he looks so happy, big difference from all the other photos. It’s a great mitzvah to relieve his stress this way, I think he has the hardest job in the whole world.
Having experienced chabad of Berlin, I must say what has be done, and what is undertaken there is just incredible. The kehila goes strong and is so focused bh with all the rebbes directions!
very nice!!
