Nassau County proudly announces the appointment of Rabbi Anchelle Perl, esteemed Director of Chabad of Mineola, as a Commissioner to the Nassau County Human Rights Commission. This significant appointment underscores Rabbi Perl’s lifelong commitment to fostering unity, respect, and justice.
The Nassau County Human Rights Commission plays a vital role in promoting equality and combating discrimination through persuasion, conciliation, investigation, and education. It develops programs to enhance relations among Nassau County’s diverse populations, ensuring all residents—regardless of race, ethnicity, disability, or other protected characteristics—have equal opportunities to thrive. Rabbi Perl’s appointment strengthens the Commission’s mission to advocate for justice and harmony, particularly at a time when rising antisemitism and hate crimes demand moral clarity and proactive leadership.
As a Shliach (emissary) of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, Rabbi Perl has dedicated decades to building bridges across communities, guided by the universal principles of the Seven Noahide Laws. These laws form a moral foundation for all humanity, promoting ethical conduct and societal harmony. The Rebbe envisioned these laws as a blueprint for a just and compassionate world, encouraging Shluchim like Rabbi Perl to inspire people of all backgrounds to embrace these values.
Rabbi Perl’s work, from addressing Holocaust remembrance to combating antisemitism and supporting law enforcement, reflects the Rebbe’s call for Shluchim to serve as “lamplighters,” illuminating the world with acts of goodness. In his new role as Commissioner, Rabbi Perl will leverage these principles to foster mutual respect, promote justice, and strengthen Nassau County’s commitment to a society where every individual is valued and protected.
“Rabbi Perl’s appointment is a testament to his unwavering dedication to justice and community unity,” said noted attorney Michael Soshnick, Esq. “His leadership and moral vision will enhance the Commission’s mission to uphold human rights for all.”
Rabbi Perl expressed his gratitude, stating, “Inspired by the Rebbe’s teachings, I am honored to serve Nassau County in this capacity. The Seven Noahide Laws remind us that we are all created in the image of G-d, with a shared responsibility to build a just and compassionate world. I look forward to working with the Commission and community partners to promote harmony and equality for every resident.”
