Chief Rabbi and Chabad Shliach in Vinitza, Ukraine was attacked on Thursday night by a group of thugs.
Jerusalem-born Rabbi Shaul Hurvitz and his 3 year old son were escorting a Jewish friend from Canada at 10.30pm when a few locals approached them, ottering “death to the Jews; we’ll berry you all in the ground.”
“These men hit my son twice on the head and also my husband was hurt,” wife and mother Chana Hurvitz told COL in a phone conversation.
“With Divine Providence, a car stooped by and the driver let in my husband, son and the guest and started chasing the thugs who were running away.”
The Police were quick at arriving at the scene and arrested a few suspect. Rabbi Hurvitz identified them at the station as his attackers.
But later on he has received threats to his mobile phone and demand to pay 30,000 euro.The police is investigating.
