Most girls these days opt to pay a Rebbetzin or wise woman to give over Kallah classes, but some still hold on to the classic Jewish tradition of a mother teaching their daughter.
Rivky’s mother was no different. She was a much sought-after Kallah teacher, and awaited the day that she could provide her wisdom with her very own daughter, Rivky. But fate thought otherwise. Rivky’s mother became sick before she even entered the parsha.
After a long and hard fight, the mother of 11 was niftar two years ago. Rivky’s father has been out of the picture, and when her mother died, everything fell apart. Her siblings were taken in by friends and relatives.
“I am now engaged to a wonderful man. I don’t have a wedding dress nor basic things for the house, and I don’t have a mother or father to hold my hand as I walk down the aisle…We still are lacking many of the basic things we need to start our lives,” Rivky writes on her crowdfunding page. Without parents to give her guidance or even the smallest bit of financial support, Rivky makes a plea to Am Yisrael for help. Read it by clicking here. To donate, click here.
