He was an anti-semite.
He is against all foreign support…
Your wrong he’s supportive of Israel but he doesn’t believe Israel should be funded by us amongst other countries and nonprofits that the US supports.
The only country in the middle east who the US can trust, in fact it’s ONLY trustworthy ally there, is Israel. America is not doing itself a favor by empowering Israel’s enemies by weakening Israel. They are Americas enemies as well, it’s just that Israel is in their way. The Iron Dome is Israel’s most effective defense system- it is not a weapon of war.
Before you make your comment, you should do some research. See what the Rebbe wrote to Dershowitz about not calling politicians anti-Semites.
He’s using this Bill as leverage to stop any funding from going to the taliban, which is going to get the money that was promised to the afghan government, and no one cares to stop it
Yes, I don’t think Rand is anti Israel. It looks like it’s a strategic plan to block funding to the Taliban. We’ll see what happens.,
B”H The video indicates that Paul’s amendment is not going to pass anyway, so the bill will pass, just delayed — unless I misunderstood. But anyway, it sounds like the bill to fund Iron Dome was also going to include a clause that gives money to the Taliban in Afghanistan. His amendment would remove that part of the bill. Is that really bad? If I’m understanding this video correctly, it sounds like the bill needs to pass, minus the part that gives money to the Afghani Taliban. And that sounds like the reason Rand Paul is offering this amendment. That… Read more »
Israel should be independent and not be so batul to America and America’s attitude. He is not an anti-Semite. He is an isolationist and doesn’t believe in many forms of sending financial assistance to other countries in general. And even if he was an anti-Semite for argument’s sake. Anyone can be a shliach to push Jews in the right direction. That is more important than whether or not he is an anti-Semite.
We the Jewish people need not forget this disgraceful audacity!
I’m holding judgment, till I hear the full story
Impossible
In connection with this same bill, the “Squad” attempted to block this same funding. When they failed, AOC was seen crying.
Now, did this site have anything to say about that? Did you have anything to say about that? Or do only certain kinds of opposition garner a response from you?
Unlike all the people rushing in here to support and defend Rand Paul…
So in other words, you just ignore that kind of open display of anti-Semitism, since it’s from your preferred party. Gotcha.
from actually criticizing the Squad, rather than just attempting to ignore what they say? Besides the fact that they have (D)s after their names, that is.
Maybe you can explain the people making excuses for Rand Paul and actively enabling his blockade of the funding. How convenient to deflect to the squad instead of looking in your own daled Amos.
Since there are facts available (as has indeed been shown in this thread) that might put things in a different light, then those are going to be provided. Or are you saying that they should be suppressed? Why, because the fellow has an (R) after his name? Meanwhile, there’s nothing preventing you from trying to provide excuses when, for example, members of the Squad try to block such funding, or when Kamala Harris says that an anti-Israel student’s “truth” needs to be heard, etc. And if you can’t find such excuses, why then you should be condemning them, not trying… Read more »
You may not like him, and you may disagree with his views, but his belief is that Israel should NOT be reliant on American aid, and NOT be beholden to American Politics. He’s not wrong, but we all would rather a bandaid…
Every country relays on other countries so of course it should pass there is no reason not to
Tell me giving billions of dollars to iran is ok Thay shouldn’t Really on anyone so America shouldn’t give a penny anywhere!
Sounds like Rand Paul just wanted to remove a provision in the bill giving money to the Afghan Taliban. (What was Taliban funding doing in this Iron-Dome-for-EY-funding bill anyway, in the first place???)
Sounds like more of a good, protective move than a shteck toward Israel.
Or am I missing something here? If so, please explain.
I wish this post would include his reasoning, so I don’t have to click away from COL and get the information that would be part of this newsworthy item.
It’s these stupid republicans that ruin everything for Isreal
Really was stupid. Do your research and check your facts..
He’s just being a Great American. He doesn’t want to use stolen money (taxes). But adraba if it’s not for the country.
Rand Paul is not blocking the Iron Dome … He is blocking this bill which also includes and shouldn’t, funding for the Taliban( which like politicians have done before by including funding for others ie Palestinians and now the Taliban, in order to get many on the left to support it) It is all politics and it will pass —-and hopefully, he might be successful in stopping the funding for the Taliban!!
If this senator had an D next to his name instead of a R, the comments here would be very different.
because we have the common sense to look at the whole picture, not at one clip without the context that’s been provided in these comments. And that whole picture shows that the Democrats, by and large, are no friends of ours (or, heck, of the United States either). Find us an equivalent of “the Squad” on the Republican side, for example.
Unlike Obama and other Leftist politicians (many of whom are sadly supported by and have their bottoms kissed by frum activists from the Crown Heights), Senator Ron Paul is incredibly PRO Israel and is therefore adamantly against giving aid to the “Palestinian“ government and Iran. Paul is one of the few senators who is disciplined and does not spend our hard-earned taxpayer dollars like a drunken sailor. Shame on COLLIVE for not reporting how (just yesterday) Senator Paul quoted an Israeli study conducted on 2.5 million Israelis about the efficacy of natural immunity to the China virus. Paul beautifully and… Read more »
Rand Paul is against all foreign aid. Meaning that he’d cut off all funding to Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan and of course the UN if he could. He is by no means an anti-semite, he is actually very supportive of Israel’s right to defend itself but he doesn’t believe that the US should go into debt to pay another country’s bills.
The US is already nearly $30 trillion in debt!
Rand Paul believes that it makes no sense to go further into debt in order to support a country that has a $400 billion economy. Paul has been consistent throughout about cutting spending. He has voted to cut spending at nearly every opportunity in order to keep America fiscally responsible.
It’s unfortunate that Israel had to be caught in the middle of it all, but Paul is a true friend of Israel and the Jewish people, he just wants the U.S. to cut spending and to be responsible about its finances.
