Rabbi Feitel Levin is re-opening, right after Sukkos, his famous virtual Semicha and Post Semicha program – for Bachurim, Yungerleit, Shluchim and Rabbanim from the entire world, who want to excel in Semicha or want to master all of contemporary halacha.
But this year, in an exciting development, this new Semicha and Post-Semicha learning program is also coming to Crown Heights, under the tutelage of Rabbi Levin and Rabbi YY Jacobson.
The learning will commence on 28 Tishrei 5777, October 30, 2016, at Shain’s Shul, conveniently located at 390 Kingston Ave.
The Semicha and Post-Semicha courses, which are currently being offered online through TheYeshiva.net for the students the world over, will now partner up with a local Crown Heights Beis Medrash. This will bring the online courses by Rabbi Levin and Rabbi Jacobson into a practical yeshiva-like setting, for bochurim and yungerleit who are looking to approach their learning with the structure and commitment that Rabbi Levin’s programs are famous for.
Rabbi Faitel Levin’s Semicha program has gained the reputation as being one of the best in the world. The clarity, depth and thoroughness of the shiurim, as well as the in-depth knowledge the students walk away with, are unmatched. His Post-Semicha program, which has been attended online by hundreds of Bachurim, Yungeleit, Rabbonim and Shluchim, provides a unique opportunity for one to master all of the contemporary Halachic issues facing the Jewish world today. From conversions to suicide; from divorces to autopsies; from mamzeirus to electronics; from abortions to euthanasia and the ramifications of intermarriage—this course offers certification in the entire spectrum of practical Halacha (as per the instructions of the Rebbe at the Farbrengen of Shabbos Naso, 1985 and Simchas Torah 1975, that Rabbis – young and old – ought to master these Halachos as well.)
The Semicha tests and diploma will also be given by Rabbi Gavriel Tzinner.
Rabbi Feitel Levin commented: “It’s one thing to work your way through the learning even with a committed chavrusah, but there’s nothing quite like having a room full of people learning the same material, listening to the same shiurim and working their way through the sugyos together.”
This program is made for talmidim who are committed to learning in the Beis Medrash on a daily basis. It will be offering a full day Seder, for both the Semicha and Post-Semicha curriculums respectively, and show by screen the shuirim of Rabbi Levin in Halacha and of Rabbi Jacobson in public speaking and teaching. Rabbi Levin will also have a personal kesher with each student via skype or phone, to answer question and direct the learning, just as he has with all students who are part of the virtual program.
To take it to the next level, TheYeshiva.net added another member to its staff. Rabbi Shlomie Gutnick, a former Talmid Metzuyan of Rabbi Levin’s at the Melbourne Semicha program and a budding posek will be a full-time Shoel Umeshiv at the Beis Medrash, available to answer questions, provide clarification and give further direction to the learning. He will also coordinate the logistics of the Post-Semicha program at the Beis Medrash.
Shiurim for both the Semicha and Post-Semicha programs will continue to be given online by Rabbi Levin. The shiurim will be screened in the Beis Medrash at regular set times, enabling the talmidim of each program to view their shiurim together.
This is an exciting blend of classical yeshiva style learning together with the best that modern technology has to offer. Allowing us to have a Beis Medrash in Crown Heights, yet to study with, and learn from, one of the great Halachic minds in the world today – Rabbi Feitel Levin.
Of course, in order to be accepted. all Talmidim attending will need the permission of the Hanhalah of the yeshivah or Kollel they are under.
We extend our thanks to Rabbi Eliyahu Shain for helping to make this a reality.
The daily schedule will be as follows:
Sunday – Thursday: Morning nigleh seder: 11:00am – 1:45pm. Afternoon nigleh seder: 3:30pm – 7:00pm. Friday: Nigleh seder: 11am – 12.30pm.
