The Chabad Yeshiva in Tverya (a branch of the Yeshiva in Migdal HaEmek), made history this week when a student of the Yeshiva, Chaim Tzvi Fildstil, made a Siyum on the entire Shas.
At a celebration held during a Kinus Torah after Shavuos, Fildstil made a Siyum, which was attended by the Rosh Yeshiva of Migdal Haemek – Rabbi Yitzchak Goldberg, the Av Bet Din of Tverya – Rabbi Avraham Dov Orbach, and many distinguished Rabbis of the city.
Rabbi Yosef Kramer, the head Shliach of Tverya, began the program with the Dvar Malchus concerning the blessing of “Shehecheyanu,” and pointed out that this remarkable achievement took place at this relatively new Yeshiva, which is only in its fourth year. Yet, the location is very appropriate, as it was in this very city where the Mishna and the Jerusalem Talmud were compiled. He also praised Fildstil, and in particular his parents, who merited such Nachas.
Rabbi Orbach followed, praising the young scholar, and kissed his hand and embraced him with great emotion. They then broke into joyous dancing together with the staff of the yeshiva and Fildstil’s proud father.
“Tiberias, which means “beautiful to behold” – really lived up to its name today,” said Rabbi Yosef Kramer after the event.
Aside from this great accomplishment, the Yeshiva has had a great impact on the city’s varied Orthodox segments, as the students give daily Rambam classes in many synagogues.
