This past Monday, Rabbi Chaim and Sora Jacobs of Lubavitch Glasgow in Scotland paid their annual visit to the Provost of East Renfrewshire Council, Councillor Jim Fletcher.
Rabbi Jacobs gave his blessing to the mayor, the council, the Jewish community and all citizens of East Renfrewshire and throughout Scotland.
Rabbi and Mrs. Jacobs presented the Provost with a Rosh Hashona basket consisting of sweet wine, apple and honey and chocolates.
In his prayer and blessing, Rabbi Jacobs said: “We pray for all who work and live in our city. We pray for the families who have lost dear ones due to Covid, and pray for the continued health and success of all the NHS (National Health Service of the United Kingdom) key workers, doctors, nurses and ambulance people.
“We pray for our Provost Jim Fletcher and Lady Provost, that they may all have a year of great success and blessing, furthering in all and in every way the welfare of all the citizens of East Renfrewshire, the Glasgow Jewish community and all citizens of Scotland. Amen.”
