As part of its commitment to transparency and transformation in Jewish education, Lamplighters Yeshivah is releasing its second Annual Financial Report.
Last year, the school became the first ever in Crown Heights to open its books to the public, showing exactly how its money comes and goes.
Lamplighters Yeshivah is a Chabad preschool, elementary and middle school in the center of Crown Heights. It employs Chassidic teaching, Montessori methodology and behavioral science to customize the educational environment for each child.
“Transparency and transformation go hand in hand,” explains Yocheved Sidof, executive director of the school and annual presenter of the financial report to the parent body. “The groundbreaking innovations we’ve achieved thus far, with Hashem’s help, in the classroom are all due to the culture of transparency we foster among our educational staff, and now infinitely more so through the Visible Classroom technology we are developing. The Annual Financial Report is merely another manifestation of that culture in the administrative arm of the school. Trust between school and stakeholders—parents, community, supporters—is everything, and trust can only exist where there is openness and honesty.”
The report is being released in lead up to Lamplighters’ annual Charidy campaign on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 21-22, with a goal of raising $360,000 within 30 hours. Every dollar contributed during the campaign will be quadrupled by matching donors.

Agree it’s a good start. Not so much financial info but good start.
Publicize your 990 form for more transparency.
Audited financials?
If you took the time to actually read the report, you would see that is says anything and everything you would want to know about a school.
It includes the school’s projects, accomplishments, feedback, and budget spending, all presented in a beautiful, polished, professional presentation.
Which other school has done that?
its very general sounds nice but at the end of the day does not say much good luck to them
I couldn’t have said it better myself.
What I would have given to have been able to send my children to a school like this 15 years ago… but BH my grandchildren will grow up as lamplighters!
Transparency is the future.
Smoke and mirrors … a thing of the past.
This school is reinventing Chinuch
A future forged from the past, but not the past that was but the past that SHOULD HAVE BEEN
Lamplighter graduates will stand at the forefront as standard bearers for the new normal in a better post progressive world.
Where will future thought leaders and change makers arise if not from Lamplighters yeshiva.
Our future is in your hands.
Transparency is the way forward and Lamplighters as with all things Chassidish Chinuch in general, is leading the way forward towards a better tomorrow
It’s a lamplighter world, we’re just living in it
This should be done at every Lubavitch school. Chances are you will receive more money from the parents when they know where it is actually going. If there is accountability and they feel that the money is being used to pay good teachers and for making improvements in the school all will benefit.
