At its bi-annual meeting, the 50 heads of private and parochial American accreditation agencies discussed the new legislation that will grant education vouchers to parents who send their children to private schools.
The basic proposed requirement will be that the school be an accredited school. This will require private schools to undertake an accreditation protocol with an approved accreditor.
Rabbi Nochem Kaplan heads the National Accreditation Board of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, who leads the commission that deals with state a national issues discussed the steps forward at the conference.
“The is a game changer for yeshiva parents such as we have not seen,” he said.
Game changer for the yeshiva you mean . They still add an exorbitant amount of tuition. I can write a few chapters.
Tuition rates will rise
Florida has universal scholarships now, and expanded special needs scholarship and it IS A MECHAYE for parents! BE”H I hope more states will follow suit for the sake of parents struggling to put their kids through yeshiva.
As a couple putting 6 kids KA”H through school, I can assure you this is huge.
