Over 100 community members gathered on the San Francisco waterfront on Sunday, 8 Nissan – April 6 for a unique celebration hosted by Chabad SF aboard “The Klamath” ferry.
The event marked the 79th birthday of Shliach Rabbi Yosef Langer and served as a prelude to the Rebbe’s 123rd birthday, focusing on a theme dear to the Rebbe: the universal Seven Noahide Laws.
The day was filled with inspiration, joy, and vibrant energy as attendees enjoyed an uplifting program highlighting the moral and spiritual framework shared by all of humanity.
Among the event’s highlights were remarks by Rabbi Yehuda Ferris of Chabad Berkeley, who shared powerful words about the enduring relevance of the Noahide Laws; reflections from Rabbi Langer’s son Moshe, who underscored the importance of purpose-driven living.
Richard Sinkoff, retired Port of Oakland urban planner, spoke about the spiritual and ecological power of the SF Bay and the vision behind the upcoming Noah’s Ark Project—an initiative to offer youth immersive experiences combining ethical education and environmental stewardship on the waters of the Bay.
Live music and spirited dancing made the ferry feel more like a floating celebration of moral clarity and community strength.
The Noah’s Ark Project is actively seeking anchor sponsors and supporters to help bring its vision to life. Organizers say the initiative will offer transformative experiences for youth and adults alike, helping to foster a deeper connection to ethical living, nature, and each other.
Organizers thanked the many participants and supporters who made the event so meaningful, encouraging everyone to “keep the momentum going” and continue making waves in the Bay Area for good.
